Hertfordshire – Senior Hardware Engineer- £50K-£60K 

My Client specialises in providing technology solutions, particularly in the fields of electronics, software, and systems engineering. They offer services such as product development, consulting, and engineering solutions for various industries including automotive, aerospace, telecommunications, and consumer electronics. They are now looking for a hardware engineer to join their growing team!

Main Duties:

  • Oversee the architectural design of new products from conception to completion.
  • Specify hardware components for optimal performance and compatibility.
  • Utilize Altium, Cadence, or Mentor tools for schematic capture.
  • Supervise or directly produce PCB layouts to ensure functionality and efficiency.
  • Prepare comprehensive design documentation and verification plans.
  • Conduct hardware commissioning and verification testing to validate design integrity.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • 3-5 years post-graduate professional experience developing electronic hardware

  • ARM microprocessors designs

  • Serial interfaces such as I2C SPI, RS232, RS485/422

  • Knowledge of on-board power supply designs

  • High-speed multilayer PCB layout

Desired but not essential experience:

  • FPGA design, especially AMD/Xilinx, Intel/Altera or Lattice

The salary for this position will be circa £50,000 - £65,000 depending on experience.
