Job Title:             Building Surveyor

APN is seeking a Building Surveyor to join Redditch and Bromsgrove Council Buildings. We are looking for talented candidates with a bias for action and an entrepreneurial spirit. Job Description

  • To prepare detailed scheme designs with costing, through feasibility and programme delivery, to completion of projects. Specification of works, including organisation of documents for tender/quotation and advice on appointment of contractors, designers, and procurement routes. This will include the preparation of designs/drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Advise on the maintenance and supervision of building maintenance by providing technical support to Facilities Officers, determining the condition of existing buildings, and identifying and analysing defects, including proposals for repair.

  • Understand and comply with the legal requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and any other relevant regulations, as detailed in the Council’s Health and Safety Policy Statement.
  • To carry out duties and responsibilities under the Data Protection Act 1998, including taking all reasonable care to ensure that no unauthorised loss or disclosure of personal data occurs.
  • To undertake such other reasonable duties as may be requested.

Key competencies

  • HND/ Degree in Building surveying plus minimum 2 years post qualification in a Building Surveying Role
  • Proven experience within a similar role.
  • Full and current driving licence
  • Use of own vehicle
  • Experience of working within a similar environment.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, diverse, and evolving work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills

Hourly Rate: £25 p/h

Working hours: 37 hours, Monday to Friday

Location: Redditch with the Ability to travel between and work on sites ( inspections etc.)- travel as and when required, weekly
