The Role

  • Implementing, reviewing, and ensuring completion weekly of a planned and preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Auditing equipment on site for safety and food safety purposes.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards are implemented, maintained, and adhered to.
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating and controlling all activities and staff within the Engineering team to enable the business to achieve the right quality product at the right time.
  • Fulfil continuous improvement projects to reduce costs, improve efficiencies and streamline processes and procedures.
  • Improve the labour effectiveness of the Engineering team.
  • Maintaining the operational performance of all site machinery and plant whilst ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Meet business KPIs by reducing downtime and rejects and maximising production efficiency and quality.
  • Taking the lead for Engineering sections in audits.
  • Dealing with contractors
  • Managing budget and CAPEX expenditure
  • Manage and motivate all team members and ensure they are supported and work in partnership to deliver engineering KPIs that contribute to business KPIs.
  • Aid in the recruitment, retention, and staff development processes to ensure the engineering team always has the correct resources.
  • To prioritise and manage the engineering workload/activities for the site and delegate duties to subordinates for best efficiency.
  • Ensure all plant, equipment and systems are maintained with suitable and enough protection as defined by legislation.

  • Electrical bias preferred
  • Food or drinks manufacturing 
  • Management
