Head of Operations for UK & Ireland

Objective

The Head of Operations UK & Ireland secures the most economical balance between local and central LAEMEA operations for the served territory. The Head of Operations takes a 3-5 year view to match the needs of the growth plans for the UK and Ireland with the Regional Logistics Strategy thereby ensuring a best in class delivery performance to all customers for products and services. The processes that are under the ownership of the Head of Operations is from Order (receipt) to Cash including order processing, purchasing, complaints handing, warehousing and logistics. Leads the team managers in operations from a daily operational perspective. As a secondary responsibility this function is to ensure up to our clients Standard facilities, IT and Quality processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Defines a 3-5 year roadmap within the LAEMEA Logistics strategy for operations in the UK & Irish markets to be fully integrated in the overall clients  approach
  • Is the process owner from order entry to dispatch including purchasing and complaints handling. Digitize whatever is possible
  • Manages the strategic & operational side to approve local suppliers and ensures product supplies that are in line with annual targets
  • Coordinates activities between central and the local warehouse in order to find the optimum in transport movements and costs
  • Manages the operations team that is the primary point of contact for customers when it comes to inquiring for open orders and deliveries
  • Ensures all aspects of health & safety in all facilities
  • Maintains a clean working environment in and around the building and ensures the overall condition of the building and general facilities
  • Manages all facilities in the territory meeting standards
  • Supervise the IT and Process & Quality team members
  • Ensures that Corporate Directives, ISO standards and legal regulations relevant to his department are converted into work processes and enforces these. legal regulations are converted into work processes and enforce them

Reporting Requirements

  • Monthly Reporting of:
  • Resource and Asset utilization in the post order acceptance processes
  • Inventory levels and service levels to customers
  • Backlog level and movements
  • Supplier Approval Status
  • Facilities Status Update

Qualifications

  • Technical and economical relevant education
  • 10 years of relevant work experience in a position leading managers
  • Good background in LEAN, hands on experience
  • Strong affinity with cables and connection technology in the market
  • Affinity with a functional aligned organization and supporting multiple stakeholders
  • Understands the detail of managing Profit & Loss

Language

  • English is a must, German would be an advantage
